Getting ready to counteract the spread of the great American Liver Fluke (Fascioloides magna), a new exotic enemy in wild herbivores throughout Europe
Through a thorough search of the existing literature, the aim is to investigate, in as much detail as possible, all aspects of the interaction between the trematode Fascioloides magna, host animals and the environment.
description
The systematic analysis of the scientific literature conducted on F. magna aims to describe in detail the state of the art of knowledge on the eco-epidemiology, pathology and control of this pest, with particular reference to the European context, and to identify the gaps that limit the effectiveness of strategies to combat its further geographical expansion, as well as to control where F.magna is already present in an endemic form.
